Farming in Usambaras 5

For environment protection reasons the most dairy cattle in the Usambaras is kept on a zero-grasing basis at home. The fodder plants are are planted as contour lines and act so as erosion protection on the steep slopes of the mountains. The milk production is very low, as one cow does not give more than about 4 litres a day.
