No, this was not taken on a mowed lawn! Actually, the area where this image was taken is at high elevation. It is under many feet of snow for much of the year. Because of the short growing season, the only vegetation in this immediate location is short alpine grasses and small flowering herbacious plants.
All of my wildlife photos are taken of wild, free ranging wildlife that are not captive in any way.
