Once 'Queen of the Skies', through both peace and war, the Douglas DC-3 (Dakota) sits forlorn, but not unloved at the Australian Aviation Museum at Bankstown Airport in Sydney. The museum is entirely self-funded and is staffed by dedicated members who are in the process of restoring a number of old aircraft.
