I once was a real radiochemist preparing high purity yttrium-90 for medical radiotherapy. It glowed a beautiful blue colour as well - an expensive lightbulb ;-)) This was before I helped to manage the clean room production facility. I am also able to manage, produce and handle other high purity isotopes.
Obviously, I did not take the photo. It was used on the front page of AEAT News to show the public one of the many lines of research, developement and manufacturing that Harwell labs did. I was just in the right place doing the right thing at the right time. The Y-90 production team at Harwell was one of the best.
