The Kempton Park Engines
At Kempton Park on the south-western outskirts of London are two triple-expansion steam engines that until 1980 ran 24/7 pumping much of London's drinking water. They were built in 1928 and were the largest steam engines ever built in Britain. One has been restored and is steamed on open days. It is the largest steam engine working anywhere in the world.
