The Electric Railway Museum
For some reason electric trains don't seem as popular as steam or diesel. Therefore the Electric Railway Museum near Coventry is little known and the exhibits are deteriorating out in the open through lack of funds to store them anywhere else. Go and visit (though check the opening hours beforehand). Admission is free! - but put some money in the collection box - they need it.
This 1920's steeple cab loco was built for Kearsley Power Station in Manchester. Later it was converted to battery electric and worked until 2009 at Heysham Nuclear Power Station. When withdrawn it was the last standard gauge electric loco in industrial service in Britain.
