Deception Pass Bridge

The second arch of the Deception Pass Bridge, which connects Whidbey Island to Fidalgo Island in the northern Puget Sound in Washington. Both arches were built in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Both have about a 200 foot drop to the water, and span Deception Pass and Canoe Pass between the two islands. When the tides pass between the islands the water gets very fast and dangerous. The bridge is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. 11JUL09
