Piping Plover
Lilliputians and Giants
For years, I heard so much about the endangered piping plovers on the Jersey Shore. Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to get out an shoot these lil' critters. It was quite incredible to see not just the diminutive size of the adults, but just how small the chicks could actually be.
The world they live in is incredibly tiny as if they were lilliputians. While I don't consider myself a giant in anyway, I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon shooting with some of the giants in Jersey wildlife photography, which helped immensely in taking this photo. On some many levels, it was a unique experience peering into the lil' world of piping plovers with the giants.
