Maggie

View On Black

Maggie is one of four vizslas my daughter owns or has owned (other than Maggie's puppies) and her favorite, I think. Maggie is getting gray.

When Maggie had puppies they turned out to be all boys, except one girl puppy, Lola. My daughter kept Lola, the others found new homes. One of these, which came to be known as Shooter, proved to be quite a dog. He made it to the Westminster Dog Show where he did not win, but just getting there is a big accomplishment, as it is the most important dog show in this country. If you like dogs, especially Vizslas, you might enjoy the link. The background music "Staying Alive" to this small slide show alludes to the fact that fairly early in his life Shooter was bitten by an eastern diamondback rattle snake. A diamondback will deliver enough venom in one bite to kill six humans. The antivenin did not seem to work on Shooter and his owners were called by the veterinarian at night to come say good bye to him if they wanted to see him alive. They did, but in the morning Shooter was still alive somehow and later went on to Westminster as I have said.

Maggie never campaigned in shows as my daughter had other priorities and no more interest in this by the time Maggie would have been old enough.
