need ID help

thought I would try this again, it's the only post I've ever made that did not get a response. It was taken in Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware, USA earlier in January, 2014. These birds were among a group of Dunlin, and roughly the same size, but the beak and markings look different from Dunlin. Any ideas?
