The cloister
The beautiful cloister of Oviedo's Cathedral, in Asturias (Spain).
The construction of the Cathedral started in the XIII century, but it wasn't completed until the mid XVI century. It was built on the location of a previous pre-Romanesque church from the IX century. For this reason and the length of the construction, it exhibits a variery of styles: pre-Romanesque , Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. The cloister itself (about 30 m wide) was buit in the gothic style from the year 1300 to 1441.
