"Strobe on wheels"

This is a picture of my "strobe on wheels" construction. It's actually our bikebuggy with a strobe attached to a superclamp. A pocket wizard hanging next to the superclamp on the handlebar makes this whole construction thing work.

 

So when "the guys" (our three sons and myself) are going for a walk on my "daddy day" I only have to attach the whole thing to the car, mount the other pocket wizard on camera, make basic "David settings" and off we go.

 

Usually I can set up the whole enchilada before my main subject (the eldest little guy) has to pee and his twin brothers start their "CAN - WE - PLEASE - GO - ON - NOW - DADDY - WE'RE - BORED " crying routine (they cannot speak yet). Well, he has to pee anyway.

 

So, when I find myself a nice spot, I position the car, ask my main subject to take his place - ehhh ... beg him ... ehhh, you know -, fire some test shots, adjust settings if necessary, fire some more and before the peeing and crying, we're ready to go.

 

I'm delighted I have found myself a way to practice and hopefully improve my strobist skills, and hang out with the guys as well ... they're fantastic!
