The kittens were growing ever more eager to be born.

 

"If I close my eyes, I can almost see her waiting for us" the tiny stripey kitten told the others excitedly.

"Is she pretty?" asked the bold tigery one, screwing up his eyes, trying to copy his brother.

"Oh, she is beautiful!!!"

Silvery Black was becoming impatient. "It's so cold up here, can we go to her right now?"

"Not yet," said the small, more cautious tiger with leopard-spots on her head "I don't think we're quite ready."

"When, WHEN???" mewled Velvet Black, who was always most adventurous.

"Soon... very soon."

 

Twinkle Tabby, the stray who came to stay, had her beautiful brood of five kittens (3 tabby, 2 black) underneath the sideboard in the early hours of the following night, 15th May 2008. Mom and babes are doing well :-))
