Multiplication
Still in Tabgha.
A small catholic church for the Feeding of the 5,000 was first built on this site in 350 AD. In 1982 this was replaced by the modern Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes that stands today, which is a faithful reconstruction of the original. Designed by the Cologne architects Anton Goergen and Fritz Baumann, the church now belongs to the Order of the Benedictines.
Under the altar table is a block of limestone venerated as the table of the Lord. This is the traditional site of the miracle of the Loaves and the Fishes.
