City of Nazareth

Panoramic view of Nazareth city from the western slopes of Mount Precipice.

For Christians, Nazareth is important because it is the place where Jesus spent much of his life.

Mount Precipice (הר הקפיצה‎‎), also known as Mount of Precipitation and Mount Kedumim is located in Lower Galilee, south of Nazareth in northern Israel, where tradition has it an angry mob drove Jesus out of the synagogue and attempted to throw him off the cliff. This hilltop site provides sweeping views of the Jezreel Valley, Mount Tabor, and other Galilean sights.

On May 2009, Pope Benedict XVI held a large public mass on the western slopes of Mt Precipice that was attended by 40,000 people.
