Sifter Splinters

A thrift store glass meets a wooden ball moving fast.

About 250 fps.

Two flashes, one in a soft box from behind and another giving some highlighting.

It's silly hot today. Predicted to peak at 90F. I am going to have to stop checking accuweather because they are predicting a high of 75F and at 9AM it was already 80F. If you can't predict weather better than that in Southern California, get another job.

Found a problem with my flashes two days ago. I was seeing a little arc in the current limiting resistor. Turns out it was blown out and that my selection of the resistor value was totally wonky.

To be fair, it has worked just fine for two years and failed safe. But I need to use a much higher resistance.

Off to the Gem and Mineral Show in Newbury Park.

Cheers.
