White Muffler. Gyps fulvus, Eurasian Griffon Vulture, ARTIS Amsterdam Zoo, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

A chilly thick fog is on Amsterdam today. Anyway, I ambled in our Zoo quite forsaken of people and paid my respects to the Vultures in their open-air cage. I brought them greetings from their Gallinazo cousins who I saw soaring above the cliffs of Lima daily. Got only a cold glare; but I hope the magnificent white ruff keeps them cozily warm.
