Joyfulness. Kinnari Statue, Ayutthaya, Thailand

On the intersection of Pa Thon and Chikun in Ayutthaya there's this statue of four dancing Kinnaris. These fabled Buddhist-Hindu creatures symbolise lightheartedness, joy, dance and poetics. Of course this brought back to me memories of lines by William Butler Yeats (1865-1939): 'O body swayed to music, O brightening glance,/ How can we know the dancer from the dance?'
