Colorful. Floribunda Rose 'Lampion', Prinsentuin, Groningen, The Netherlands
One of the beauties of Groningen is the Prinsentuin, a jewel of a garden in the city centre. Since 1626 it has delighted generations of Stad's denizens and many tourists as well. When I lived here I dropped by almost every day and was never disappointed. The gardeners take special pride in their roses.
Here's a Floribunda Rose bred by Christian Evers of the northern German Tantau Nursery at Uetersen in 2006; in 2012 it was designated 'Lampion'.
The young, yellow flowers turn pink with age as can be clearly seen from this photo.
