Purple Bedding. Oxalis corniculata var. atropurpurea, Creeping Woodsorrel, Oudeschans, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

This Creeping Woodsorrel is one of the delightful little weeds that finds its footing between the bricks and cobbles of Amsterdam's streets. The flowers are only small, perhaps 5-6 or 7 mm. across, and they rise from a beautiful purple-brown nest of trifoliate leaves. Here it is on a delightfully Sunny early May morning.
