each year my dear friend brings the most amazing flower arrangements from here garden for my birthday: here, here, and here.
this year, after last week's hard frosts (she had 18F!) she had little to work with, so...
...she showed up with a brown paper bag full of autumn loveliness (gathered from her own trees and hedgerow, friends' places, parks in town, and the fairgrounds) and tossed them willy-nilly out onto our kitchen table into the most gorgeous of centerpieces.
