Grunge music hit its peak in the early 1990s, due mainly to the release of Nirvana's "Nevermind" (which included the hit "Come as You Are") and Pearl Jam's "Ten." Grunge musicians and fans were usually seen donning thrift store items and typical outdoor clothing---- most notably, flannel shirts.
