The mid to late 1970s saw the popularity of disco music explode. By the late 1970s, most major U.S. cities had thriving disco club scenes, including the famous Studio 54 in New York City. In the early years, popular dances included Bump, Penguin, Boogaloo, Watergate, and the Robot. By October 1975, The Hustle reigned.
