Origins Park
This is the view of the Chicago skyline from what is now Origins Park right off of Ashland in Chicago. We visited Origins Park because it was the proud host of "Bubbly Creek" during the time of the slaughterhouses and stockyards. This is the infamous place known for, spontaneously combusting goo, countless carcasses of the millions of unlucky creatures that had met their match, and all of the smells that go with these things. I really can't imagine what it could have smelled like in the 1800's, but it smelled pretty terrible even when we went. I thought it was really sad that it was so vandalized because I thought it was super cool that kids from Chicago schools made all of the plaques lining the paths. I think places like this should be more respected for their history, progress, and culture.
