Defense Mode

A handsome male Regal Jumping Spider (Phidippus regius). These spiders are so gorgeous with those iridescent fangs! I had a terrible time posing one of these spiders on white paper the last time I tried, but I think I did better this time.

 

He didn't like it when I slid my lens cap towards him, and assumed this pose. You can really see his fangs!
