"Frank Tadros took several bullets in the chest in the late 1980s during
a holdup of a South Side convenience store where he worked.
That didn't scare him away. He continued to work in his family's
stores--and always kept a gun nearby.
The gun didn't save his life Tuesday night.
At about 4 p.m., the 42-year-old Jordan native was behind the counter of
his store, Save Way Liquor, when a gunman announced a robbery and
pointed a pistol at a clerk, police said.
Tadros pulled his 9mm Glock semiautomatic pistol from under the counter
and fired several shots at the robber. One of the robber's two
accomplices shot Tadros twice, police said. One shot hit his right
shoulder. The other went through his back and into his heart, killing
him.
'Father, I am dead!' Tadros exclaimed in Arabic, calling out to his
deceased father, his family said." -- thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1144629
