Something of a vanishing breed, at least in this locality, the humble milk float has become a far less common sight on the streets of Ipswich. The Co-op was one of the main milk providers for decades but they pulled out of the daily delivery service a few years ago. When I was young there were several competing dairies. We used to get our milk from L V Cason, who had a base in Heath Lane; when they ceased trading I think we switched to Seamans and then to the Co-op. I think "milk&more" may now be the only provider of this traditional delivery service in Ipswich, but even then it's only provided on three days each week rather than the daily service of yore. I think this vehicle may have started life with the local Co-op.
