Cold weather is no time to hide under the pillow

(Isterfossen, Norway) - I tested my winter outfit for real today. Both my new Northface pants and boots were perfect - and my socks were even dry afterwards despite wading for 15 minutes in semi deep snow in the forest. There is really no excuse to stay inside. All you need is the right clothes - and I admit, that means A LOT of clothing.

 

To get an idea, for about one hour in -23 Cs I had:

 

3 undershirts. 2 wool and 1 semi-synthetic wool. One was a new Xmas present from Brynje. www.brynje.no/. Pretty good stuff.

1 Bjørn Dæhlie ski jacket

1 Moncler super warm coat with a hood and face protector

2 Wool underpants; one long, one knee-length

1. Bjørn Dæhlie ski pant

1 North Face snow pants

1 Wool socks

1 North Face winter boots

1 Face Covering Gator

1 Boss wool hat

1 REI photo gloves

 

...mostly I was great, but there are always weak links.

 

My filter started freezing. My hands got a little cold once the sun went down.

 

...but I've solved my biggest problem. My feet are now warm!!
