Handheld HDR
...I was too lazy to mount my tripod, but energized enough to circle the block for this shot. Handheld HDR's work well in 'large' size, but in 'original' size the compromises that went into making this are painfully obvious. Think about it like a handheld night shot. If you hike the ISO to 1600 or 3200 you may get a nicely composed and sharp shot, but it will be grainy. Same here - and it is better to get the shot than not get it at all...
One cost is the blurry left side of the picture. I was using my wide angle, but at lower f-stop than f/8 - and that typically blurs stuff outside the main focus. Why use it at lower f-stop? f/8 requires longer shutter speed increasing the probability of camera movement. I do increase ISO to 320-500 to minimize camera movement anyway. Also I always try to take these with my 40D (faster shooting speed) than my XTi.
