He died in 1957 but his wife Aino lived here until her death in 1967, When their daughters transferred their parents' home to the nation of Finland to be a state museum, the furnishings of the room were arranged to reflect conditions during the composer's last years. The museum guide indicated that these were the composer's toothbrushes, which raises the question of whether they'd been hanging in this bathroom wall since 957 or whether his widow put them away for storage until they were resurrected and put on display after her death. I don't think many families treat toothbrushes as heirlooms.
