020110 Bringing you luck
Every year for New Year's the Greeks make a "vassilopita", a cake in which they hide a coin and the one that gets the coin is going to have lots of luck this year. This was a slightly less traditional one, because she actually made it using a Scottish cake recipe - and hid a 1 cent coin in it ;)
And seeing as everyone seems to make one, we shared a cake yesterday at the aunt's and then we shared another one today at home when the grandparents came to visit. And G's mum is going to be the lucky one, which she thinks is a sign that she's going to pass the German exam that she needs to pass to be able to work in Germany!
