Rock garden, Chandigarh was conceptualised and created by Nek Chand who was was a Road Inspector in the Engineering Department of the Chandigarh Capital Project. His creation was accidentaly discovered in the year 1973. It has expanded since then and is almost a heritage site now. Entire garden has been created from industrial and urban waste material.
