Corvette C3 1968 with 427 V8
Model year 1968 was the first of the 3rd Generation (C3) Corvette. It was the only year model within the C3 series that had a push button release on the door. Fingers would be accommodated by a recess on the top surface of the door, seen here as a rectangle. The button also served as the place to insert the key. In subsequent years of this generation, the action of pushing down the rectangular flap would unlatch the door and the button was replaced by a simple escutcheon for the door key.
