Windmill

Road Trip time again, though somewhat different than our usual version. This one pointed us south through the Indiana windmill fields. I've posted pictures of these windmills before, probably a number of times, and I've probably posted my anti-windmill rant. Much of northern Indiana is windmill now, though oddly I can't find any information concerning what impact that's had on energy production or fossil fuel usage, either among popular sources or scientific journals. If the windmill is truly useful as a renewable energy source, this farm of something like 500 windmills should have displaced some coal demand, and this should be fairly easy to track. But nobody's looked into it. This makes me suspicious. You'd think somebody would have done that research.
