San Francisco 2002 at Golden Gate Bridge. Very impressive and reminded me of a slightly longer but similar suspension bridge 3,000 miles to the east - the Veranzano Bridge crossing NY harbour from Brooklyn to Staten Island.
How did Staten Island get its name? Brooklynites claim a European Settler asked a local Indian chief, "Is stat an Island?" Fergetaboutit.
