A texture study

Since my last submission didn't communicate "metallic" as well, I thought I'd give it another shot.

 

WIT: This is a cheese grater, propped up on the backside with a paper clip, sitting on a cutting board. I placed the setup in front of a large window. This gave me a lot of flexibility, based on my angle of shooting, to determine the amount of reflection and shadows. I exposed for the highlights, which brought the background down to nearly black. In PP, I changed the levels to completely blackout the background. I also converted to BW since this definitely gave a true feeling of "Metallic"
