Mid-century modern classics: Jens Risom Lounge Chair by Knoll
During the early years of World War II, Danish-American designer Jens Risom used one of the few available wartime materials—surplus army webbing—to create this chair for Hans Knoll. It was gobbled up for use in USO lounges and waiting rooms and was one of Knoll's first successes.
I stopped by Design Within Reach yesterday and sat in one. So comfortable!
