Operation Sea Buffalo (27)

Team 7 devised a plan to rescue James Fredrich, who had been kidnapped by armed gunmen. The team launched from HMVS Ocean aboard a CV‑22 aircraft. The aircraft first rendezvoused with an MC‑130 for midair refueling before the team conducted a HAHO insertion just off the coast of Nagonia. However, the refueling evolution cost the team valuable time, and they landed only just in time, using the remaining darkness to their advantage. Moving quickly and quietly, Team 7 patrolled toward the target undetected, knowing that speed and discipline were now essential.

As the sky to the east began to lighten, the team was still a short distance from the objective. Daybreak was approaching faster than planned, threatening to strip away their concealment. Each step forward carried the risk of discovery, and the team pressed on, hoping to reach the target before the rising light exposed their movement and shattered the element of surprise.
