Obligatory S5 moon shot

If you have a Canon PowerShot S5 IS, you are required to take a photograph of the moon. My first attempt at shooting the moon came out crappy. After reading a few topics about this, I learned from my mistakes. Last time I had image stabilization on and light metering set for evaluative instead of spot. I changed the settings this time but I had a problem. The moon was too high in the sky by the time I got out into the 12°F air. The dinky tripod my dad has couldn't point high enough. I ended up shooting this freehand. It doesn't look great, but it's better than the blurs I got last time. I would have spent more time trying different settings if it was warmer outside. Next time I will set detail to SuperFine instead of my usual Fine. This photograph is cropped.
