At the beggining I didn't feel too much inspired by the challenge photo. Then I had THE idea, but - with some disappointment - I had to give it up because I wasn't able to draw it the way I wanted :D Due to some happy chance I stumbled upon the great work of Tiffany Budd (www.facebook.com/pages/Tiffany-Budd-Fine-Art/) and decided to try out some compromise between realism and fracturing/shattering or however you want to call it :) ... and this is the result.
