Bob Dylan Concert 2013 (2)
Hometown boy returns as a 69 year old rocker after blowing in the wind all these years. A lil' raspy, as some might expect, but that's not bad, just time having it's say. Actually he and the band sounded good, and as much of the concert that I heard, it was pleasing. I walked the concert grounds outside and on the Bayfront, listening to the tunes drift in the air. Nice time, fun to chat with some, too. Hi Ches and Diane ...
I decided to Mucho El Grande the font, as the name, Bob Dylan, as an icon is larger than life. Fame is what it is. Superimposed on the photo of him and his band on the stage sort of says it all. The photo was taken about a half a block away, on a dark night, the band moving, high iso, on a tripod, and cropped about 80%, the stage dimly lit as well. Difficult conditions, this photo the best of the bunch.
Kind regards ...
Contrary to some of the rumors going around, (tic), there was no Dubstep, at least not what I could hear, and the rendition of him and the band doing Gangnam Style is totally false. I left a little early, so the rumor of him doing Call me Maybe by Carly Rae, may have some truth to it, but I doubt it. Bob will be Bob, will be Bob, and that's something that we can all be thankful for.
A memory of Bob's music that seems to stick in my head, it was a date night long ago, the girl was Lolly from Oshkosh, we were sitting in a booth at Sammy's Pizza on First Street, the song on the Jukebox was Lay Lady Lay, Lay across my big brass bed. It was brand new just released.
Funny how associations for some things just stick, the simple imagery and easy to recall lyrics. One of my favorites was Blowing in the Wind, I was a Peter Paul and Mary fan, too.
I like Bob's music, it was around growing up, and influenced a generation.
