Reader reflect

A somewhat stark early 19th century reminder of the transitory nature of human life. The local vicar went to bed in perfect health on Saturday October 11th 1823 and, 'was found a corpse on Sunday morning'. St Peter's church, South Weald. The monument is the work of a leading Regency artist, Sir Francis Leggatt Chantrey.
