Galveston Orphanage
The Galveston Orphanage built in 1902 to replace the building lost in the Great Storm 1900 at 1315 21st. St., Galveston, Texas. Oct. 2010.
While I was photographing this building I spoke to a woman walking past. She said, "My husband was in there. He said it was horrible. He jumped the fence when he was 7 and got away." I did some internet research but found no mention of a scandal or investigation associated with the orphanage. But what would make a 7 year old jump the fence into the unknown? Does anyone know anything related to her story?
