1955 Ford Popular 103E – RVC 734
This particular Popular 103E was in brilliant condition when it was spotted as an exhibit at the 2014 Crich Tramway Village, Classic Transport Gathering on Sunday the 24th of August 2014. This particular Ford was made back in 1955 and it was first registered in the UK, in the same year, on the 8th of October 1955 so it has presumably been in the UK for all of its life. This one does have its original engine according to the DVLA, a 1.2 Litre (1172cc) Straight-Four Side-Valve engine which runs on petrol. This particular car, when seen, was owned by Len and Muriel Shorthouse of Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, who were the fourth owners. The car was first registered to Mr. Reginald Peach of Coventry after being completed on the 1st of July 1955 at the Doncaster Briggs Works in Yorkshire. It has a number of extras from the standard Pop, such included, a Ford radio, trafficators, oil bath air cleaner, windscreen washer unit and others.
