Caustic Soda paint stripping

These nothing quite like a hot water - caustic soda mix for shifting old and stubborn paint, saves on loads of hassle too. You've just got to be very careful when using it and wash off in clean water afterwards.

This is a spun-aluminium reflector dish from out an old GEC street light that I'm currently restoring. You have to watch aluminium, as caustic soda will eaten into it if left too long, however, steel, iron and most other metals are fine.
