Travel West Midlands association with 'Fleetlines' didn't completely end on 1st November 1997, when No 7000 made its final fare-paying journey from City to Washwood Heath Garage on the late afternoon of that day. Indeed, two Fleetlines were later transferred to TWM's 'Travel Merry Hill' operation, for use as car park shuttle buses at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre near Dudley.
A third Fleetline, 6898 was also drafted into 'Travel Merry Hill' for use as a driver training vehicle. However, as things transpired, the bus was never used. As for Travel Merry Hill, that was eventually incorporated into the main TWM bus fleet.
