ornate box turtle?

Just now, during a heavy monsoon rain, Ron and I saw a turtle in our backyard. We went outside, grabbed it, and took some pictures of it. We let it go assuming it was native.

 

We tried to identify it by searching for information on the Internet, and thought it might be an ornate box turtle, although its range seems to be a little farther east than where we are.
