Virginia City g Bucket of Blood Saloon
Located in western Nevada at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, just south of Reno, Virginia City, the legendary mining town at the heart of the Comstock Lode is the largest federally designated Historical District in America.
Once a thriving boomtown in the 1850s, which turned grubby prospectors into instant millionaires, Virginia City is maintained in its original condition, as it was in the days of the 1870s (the “Bonanza” years), when the Comstock Lode made it the West's premier mining metropolis.
Virginia City and the Comstock Lode still maintain the flavor of the highfalutin mining days, when Mark Twain roamed the streets and everybody wanted a piece of the "Richest Place on Earth." The main “C” street has the original wooden sidewalks from the late 1800’s, which are filled with saloons and hotels, once full of wild and boisterous miners.
