Precambrian (Grenville Province) Gneiss, Pike Brook Rd., Clemens, NY

(1/3) Lowly mound of granulite-grade metamorphic gneiss along the east side of Pike Brook Road, in the vicinity of the hamlet of Clemens, Town of Dresden, Washington County, NY, near South Bay of Lake Champlain. These are weathered Adirondack Mountain rocks, although not in (within the "Blue Line" of) the NY Adirondack State Park. (Go to 2).
