No.1 Autographic Kodak Special camera
Folding camera for rollfilm size 120 , made in USA from 1915-1920 with a variety of lens /shutter combinations . The inscription in the film compartment ("No.1 Special Kodak model-A") suggests that this model was designed and fabricated before the autographic feature was available . The back of the camera on the contrary states that the camera is the "No. 1 Autographic Kodak Special" . The text on the inside of the camera back ( 'pat applied for' ) suggests that this was a late change in design , coinciding with the application of the autographic feature .
In Brian Coe's book "Kodak cameras - the first 100 years" no mention is made of a "No.1 Special Kodak model A" although there is a "No. 1A Special Kodak" .
